"What Do You Mean" singer, Justin Bieber, showed love to his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, amidst her struggle with lupus.  It was reported that the 21-year-old hitmaker was the major factor in Selena's lupus recovery, which she revealed recently in her interview with Billboard.

According to the source, the "I Love You like a Love Song" singer was diagnosed with lupus and had undergone chemotherapy to treat her illness. HollywoodLife reports that Selena was afraid of losing her hair before she began her chemotherapy, but her ex-boyfriend was there to support her.

The source of the publication revealed how the Canadian singer pampered his ex-girlfriend during her illness recovery.

"He would always tell her she's the most beautiful girl in the world, and that it wouldn't matter if she gained weight, lost her hair, or anything," the source said. "He would make up little songs for her... and if they were both in L.A., he'd come over and order in her favorite food from all the most expensive restaurants in Beverly Hills."

The couple was dating on and off before they finally broke up last year. It was revealed that JB stepped up for SelGo despite the ups and downs in their relationship. Bieber reportedly recognized the difficulties Selena was facing. "That's not to say there haven't been plenty of other times when he was a jerk, but he knew she was struggling, and he wanted to let her know he was there for her," the insider said.

The former Disney darling also opened up about her relationship with Justin in her recent interview with Billboard. "Of course I got my heart broken," she said.

However, it was reported that Gomez and Bieber are now friends. "At this point, there is no anger," she admitted. "There's closure in a very good, healthy way. We've seen each other. I'm always encouraging and I am proud of his journey."
