"Person of Interest" season 5 proves to surprise the audience with Sarah Shahi's comeback. After a long wait on her portrayal of the highly skilled Sameen Shaw, Shahi hints spoilers from the recent Comic Con in New York on what to expect on the sixth season.
According to the article of Entertainment Weekly, Shahi said that "Person of Interest" season 5 will feature a deepened relationship between Root and Shaw.
"There's some really nice Root/Shaw stuff coming up," Shahi said. "I think some things that the fans have been waiting for, I think some exploration that the fans deserve to see at this point, so that was a pretty big thing that we recently filmed."
"POI" season 5 spoilers also indicated that Amy Acker who plays Shaw's onscreen love interest will go through a "struggle" when Shaw disappeared. Her character Root was in a turmoil in deciding if she will go find Shaw or if she will find the machine.
"For Team Machine, we've all been searching for Shaw, so we have this real dynamic between, do we put our energy into finding Shaw, or saving the Machine," Acker said from EW. "That's where this season picks up, and it's a real struggle for my character."
Aside from the exciting developments to watch out for in the upcoming season, Michael Emerson also said the the next season may actually be the last of the "Person Of Interest" series.
"I think something that is exciting to look forward to is this may be the last 13 episodes of the show ever," Emerson said.
Though this may be a sad news to know, Emerson also said that the sixth season is packed with more riveting stories and a lot of "climaxes."
"So there's going to be some climaxes, there's going to be some wrapping up, [and] I assume casualties, transformations, endings of all sorts."
