Yahoo now offers a password-free login for their email service with their updated yahoo mail app. According to yahoo, with their new mail app, due to release on Thursday, users will now have the choice to use an option called "Account Key."

According to ksnt, the Account Key Feature "allows people to sign into their email accounts by pressing on a notification sent to their smartphones instead of typing in a password."

The company believes that this new app and its feature are more secure, compared to the traditional inputting of email passwords, this is because Yahoo believes that the old method is easy for hackers to guess. The company's senior vice president of communication products, Jeff Bonforte, stated via ksnt that, "The Sunnyvale, California, company wants to change the way Internet security works because Yahoo "is synonymous with the Internet in many countries. We always feel a burden of consumer protection."

This Yahoo update is considered by some experts as the company's move to maintain their status as one of the world's most popular email services, under Yahoo Mail. This update, and some other new features of their new Yahoo mail app are considerably important for the company especially that there has been a decline on their revenue. With the help of this Yahoo mail update, the company aims to make a significant impact on half of its users using mobile devices for checking mails. They expect to capitalize on this and draw traffic for other Yahoo services, such as sports, entertainment and finance.

Aside from Account Key feature, which pushes password-free login, the new Yahoo mail app is also packed with more new features for practical use. Users with multiple accounts for example, can now connect and manage their mails from Outlook, Hotmail, and AOL Mail with the use of the new Yahoo update.
