"Just Cause 3," the upcoming open-world action game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix, is going to require a very big space on our computer or console's hard drive.

Announced on Nov. 11, 2014, this game will be released in Dec. 1, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. According to IGN, Xbox Store has published good details about the game, including how much space it will consume on the Xbox One. For those who opt to download the game, it will need 42.49GB of space on the Xbox One hard drive. There is no information for PS4 and PC yet, but it is safe to assume it would be just as big.

For the "Just Cause 3" fans who are wondering why it is so big, IGN reports that it is due to the game's 1,000-kilometer Mediterranean-themed map that has been dubbed as one of the biggest ever in gaming.

And Square Enix has come up with something interesting for the dedicated fans of "Just Cause 3" who are willing to allocate that huge chunk of space for the game. As part of its marketing efforts, Square Enix is awarding an island to the player who tops the game's leaderboard in the first 90 days following the game's release. The location of that island is still unknown, but the cash equivalent is $50,000. Therefore, the island is nowhere as big as Medici and the winner may opt for the cash price.

On the other hand, one lucky player may win a $5,000-worth computer package in another contest that the makers of "Just Cause 3" has organized. According to GameSpot, the contest requires creating a single one to two minute trailer of the upcoming game. The game developer, Avalanche, has provided a creative Content Kit which interested individuals can use in creating the trailer.

The developers of "Just Cause 3" are doing their best to keep the hype going for the upcoming game, after all, the game may be so amazing it is worth that 42.49GB of space on that hard drive.
