Motorola Droid smartphones get their release date via the Oct. 7 announcement.

DROID carrier Verizon has final confirmed that the upcoming line-up of the new DROID smartphones will be revealed on Oct. 27. The announcement gave Verizon another opportunity to provide the best smartphones that Motorola has ever created.

The DROID smartphones announcement was stated when the press was invited by both Motorola and Verizon for an event on Oct. 27 at 11am in New York, The Verge reported.  The statement somehow hinted and pointed that rumors about the release of the new DROID Turbo 2 will be confirmed, though doubts have filled the minds of the speculators, as to whether or not the DROID Maxx 2 will also be unveiled during the event.

Despite the doubts, the text in the ad clearly indicated the words DROID, which goes to show that more than one device will be showcased. Their tagline "everything you expect from a phone will change" together with an image of a shattered glass was shown. It intrigued everyone since rumors have been circulating that the DROID Turbo 2 will be coming with a shatter proof display, NDTV reported.

DROID smartphones' hardware rumors have made a lot of users expect that it will be coming with the Snapdragon 810 chipset, a 5.5 inch with a 2560 x 1140 resolution display, and an astounding 3,760 mAh battery. There are some indications that the Motorola will also be releasing a similar device called the Moto X Force in the international market.

DROID Maxx 2 is also one of the most awaited devices to be unveiled. It is expected to have a 5.5 inch display. As for the hardware, it will have the Snapdragon 615, as well as a 21MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera similar to the DROID Turbo 2. The most stand-out rumor about the DROID Maxx 2 is that it will be the remodeled version of the Moto X Play.
