James Packer and ex-wife Jodhi Meares enjoyed a cozy date as he escorted her at the Lexus Ball in Perth on Saturday, Oct.17.
Meares, who divorced Packer 13 years ago, was seen comfortable with her ex-partner at the recent outing. She wore a slender-cut cream knee-length dress that showed her slim figure. Carey's boyfriend was seen as gentleman as ever to his former wife, Daily Mail reports.
The news comes on the heels of Mariah Carey's first directorial job of a festive film, "Christmas Melody." The rare sighting of Packer and his ex-wife Meares easily fueled rumors that he is rekindling his romance with his former partner of three years.
Although their most recent outing was uncommon, Packer and Meares were photographed together with Carey on Packer's yacht during their European summer trip. The three posed for a picture, which was the first time that Packer and Meares were seen together after their divorce in 2002.
Meanwhile, as Packer and ex-wife Meares appeared cordial with each other, new reports claim that the "Hero" hitmaker's ex, Nick Cannon, was begging her not to marry the 48-year-old Australian businessman. Cannon thinks that Carrey is rushing on marrying Packer, which could mess up his good relationship with the singer as they co-parent their four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, according to Contact Music.
''Nick is begging Mariah not to marry James," an insider told In Touch Weekly. "He likes being the only man in Mariah's life. Friends even think he would get back together with her if he had the chance.''
Packer and ex-Wife Meares tied the knot in 1999 and divorced three years after. She is now dating a New York-based actor and photographer, Nick Finn. Carey and the host of America's Got Talent were married on April 30, 2008 and were together for for six years until he filed a divorce on Dec. 12, 2014.
