"19 Kids and Counting" alums Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are once again under fire for using the word "babysitting" in reference to their son.
On Instagram, Dilllard posted a photo of their child and wrote, "Baby sitting this guy this morning." Immediately after, Dillard's followers commented negatively on the reality TV star's use of words.
Some of them noted that the word "babysitting" shouldn't be used when taking care of one's kids because it suggests that it is not done out of one's own will. After receiving shade on the social networking site, Dillard made his account private.
In an interview with Yahoo Parenting, Dad 2.0 summer co-founder John Pacini said, "This language implies that Dillard doesn't have the capability or concern to be a fully engaged parent in his child's life. Maybe he can't nurse the baby, but he's an equal parent with equal responsibilities."
One Instagram follower commented, "It's not babysitting when it's your child. I hate when fathers say this. You're parenting. Doing what people do when they have kids. Not babysitting."
Meanwhile, Duggar and Dillard are also being criticized for allegedly misusing the money they have collected from donors for their missionary work. The couple have been in and out of the United States and El Salvador to provide help to their misfortunate brothers and sisters there.
However, some critics have also noted a sudden change in the couple's lifestyle, making them question whether the former reality TV stars are using all of the money for the mission work, according to Star Pulse.
At one point, Dillard also said that his family was commissioned by their pastor to reach out to the less fortunate. However, the missionaries at the Southern Baptist Convention actually rejected them from doing the said role.
As of late, Duggar will star in a series of TLC specials similar to the now debunked "19 Kids and Counting."
