"Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale recently revealed that some of her followers on Instagram have become extra rude lately. The actress, who plays the role of Aria Montgomery on the hit ABC Family series, said that one hater even went as far as calling her "ugly." Instead of calling out the name of the fan, Hale simply decided to remove her from her Instagram account.
Immediately after the online bashing incident, the actress shared a cryptic message on Instagram that was inspired by the movie "Mean Girls."
The said film popularized the statement, "You can't sit with us." The term is used by mean girls or bullies who don't want to be associated with those they believe are not up to par with them.
"Repost from @tanyarad... after reading some really nasty comments from some girls earlier on Instagram, this seemed appropriate to post. When in doubt, be nice. Good rises to the top," she wrote alongside a photo with the words, "You can totally sit with me."
Meanwhile, the actress also updated her fans on Twitter about the incident.
"'Bye Felicia' is so dead but I feel SO much better after I 'bye Felicia'd' a girl who told me I was 'so ugly I should die' on Insta. Harsh," she wrote.
In other news, it seems that Hale is already over the incident after receiving countless support from her millions of fans.
Just recently, Hale attended the 2015 New York Comic Con as well as the PaleyFest where she talked about Aria's fate in "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6. According to her, Aria will be in a relationship with a male character who is not Ezra (Ian Harding). However, she clarified that the two will remain close friends during the five-year time-jump.
"Pretty Little Liars" Season 6 will premiere on ABC Family in January 2016.
