Samsung isn't only one of the best manufacturers of high end smartphones, the company is also one of the top producers of budget friendly phones. And just recently, they have released two new phones in the lower midrange category for the budget conscious consumers. The "Samsung Galaxy J5" and the "Samsung Galaxy J2" are both latest additions to Samsung's smartphone line. Despite "Samsung Galaxy J5" being released last June and the "Samsung Galaxy J2" being released last month, the latter is a lower model than the J5. But let's see how exactly these phones are similar or different from each other.

Both phones have LTE connectivity, optional dual sim capability, and WiFi hotspot. These three phone features are actually already common within the more affordable smartphones which makes LTE connectivity a little more accessible to everyone compared years ago. Additionally, both "Samsung Galaxy J5" and the "Samsung Galaxy J2" have an FM radio.

However, the J5 uses a Snapdragon 410 chipset with quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 CPU while the J2 uses an Exynos 3475 chipset with a Quadcore 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 CPU. As for the memory, the "Galaxy J5" has two memory variants (8/16 GB) while the "Galaxy J2" only has an 8 GB option, although both phones can have additional memory of up to 128 GB through their microSD slots. But for the RAM, J5 has a bigger RAM of 1.5 GB compared to J2's 1 GB RAM.

The "Samsung Galaxy J5" costs around 200 Euro while the "Samsung Galaxy J2" is at around 120 Euro. With that, it can easily be assumed that the "Samsung Galaxy J5" is a better option for people looking for a new smartphone in the budget-friendly category. The front flash is definitely a plus and the bigger battery is also a good complement to that. However, if you're not exactly the smartphone addict type, going for the more affordable option that is the J2 is a good choice. Besides, it is also running the same OS as the J5, it can definitely cater to your moderate smartphone tasks like browsing and games.
