"Attack on Titan" Season 2 may be months away from its return to the small screens and fans are already excitedly waiting for updates to the TV adaptation of "Shingeki no Kyojin." Will the upcoming season feature the death of this certain fan-favorite character?
Warning: Spoilers ahead! Read on if you want to learn more about the details of this story.
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2016, as Director Tetsuro Araki previously revealed that the long wait will soon be over. The last episode of the TV adaptation of "Shingeki no Kyojin" aired in 2013 and left many fans with a cliffhanger.
Director Araki revealed that the reason for the long delay between Seasons one and two is because they were only two story arcs ahead of its manga counterpart, Venture Capital Post cited. The first season of "Attack on Titan" covered four story arcs and so, the director and the rest of the team have to wait for more chapters of "Shingeko no Kyojin" before they proceed with Season 2.
Meanwhile, Christian Post reported that a leaked synopsis of the upcoming season of "Attack on Titan" seemingly hints on the death of fan-favorite character, Levi Ackerman.
"The fifth story arc of the 'Attack on Titan,' the 'Clash of Titans' arc encompasses the Titans appearance inside the wall, which forced 104th Trainees Squad to a brutal battle against those mysterious Titans. Unknown to them, those Titans are actually members from their group. Eren, shocked, battles them in a decisive battle," the leaked synopsis read.
While Levi's death remains to be uncovered when the second season of "Shingeki no Kyojin" premieres in 2016, it is speculated that his death will take place while trying to save his friends, Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin. Fans will also be able to see "a new breed of intelligent Titans."
