"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson recently admitted that she used to have terrible tastes in music and fashion.

In an interview with Elle, the actress who plays the role of Anastasia Steele, said that she's happy that she's over that phase in her life when everything she did didn't resonate with who she really was.

"I want to take both of you for encouraging me and supporting me in all of my endeavors..." she told her mom Melanie Griffith and grandmother Tippi Hedren.

"...Excluding the time you let me cornrow my hair on vacation and my scalp got sunburned and also when I thought it would be cool to pierce my belly button and I wore dangling jewelry from it," she continued.

"Also excluding when I went through that phase of listening to Phish, the ska band spelled with 'P-h' and when I changed my name to my cellular telephone voicemail to Bliss," she said.

Johnson, who recently said that she believes Anastasia should be depicted as a funny character, went on to humor the attendees at the event.

"Basically, I want to un-thank you for all the times I embarrassed myself and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything else," she said.

Meanwhile, Leslie Mann presented Johnson's Calvin Klein Spotlight Award, and before calling her to the podium, said some nice things about the actress first, according to E! News.

"Dakota's performance in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' is really remarkable because in the movie she too plays a virgin and you believe it -- but in real life she is not. In real life, I feel she would eat Christian Grey. She would suspend him from the ceiling and smack him open like a piñata," Mann said.

Johnson will co-star with Jamie Dornan in "Fifty Shades Darker." The film is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
