After years of being the President's mistress, will Olivia (Kerry Washington) finally become the first lady in the new episode of "Scandal" Season 5?

In the previous episode of "Scandal," it was revealed that Cyrus (Jeff Perry) is back in the White House as the Chief of Staff, and according to International Business Times, he will be fixing the scandalous affair of Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) by letting him propose marriage to Olivia. In the promotional video for "Scandal" Season 5 episode 6, Cyrus tells the couple, "You two are getting married."

This follows the events that happened in episode 5 where Mellie (Bellamy Young) wanted to take revenge when Fritz and Olivia went public with their relationship. According to Venture Capital Post, Cyrus originally teamed up with Mellie for Fitz to get impeached and destroy Olivia's image. However, things did not go as Mellie planned as Olivia's team came up with an image makeover for their boss to get the sympathy of the public.

In the official synopsis for "Scandal" Season 5 episode 6, it was revealed that Mellie will be put in hot seat as she will be confronted about her troubled and fake marriage with Fitz. Aside from that, it was also revealed that Olivia's dad, played by Joe Morton, will be reappearing in the new episode. It was reported that in the promo video for episode 6, Papa Poe can be seen being strangled. Meanwhile, Vice President Susan Ross (Artemis Pebdani) will be turning to David (Joshua Malina) for advice.

Back in the White House, President Fitz will be handling another problem, and this time it is the war against West Angola. Can Fitz prove once again that he can fight anything for Olivia? On the other hand, Olivia will still be getting the support of her team amidst the controversies she is in right now.

"Scandal" Season 5 episode 6 will air on ABC on October 29.
