The cast for season 2 of "Agent Carter" grows by the day as the show is currently in production for its premiere in 2016.

Christian Post reports that veteran actor from "That 70's Show," Kurtwood Smith, was added to cast in a recurring role. According to the site's sources, Smith's character is named Vernon Masters. The character description reveals that Masters is a veteran of the War department and he also has a keen understanding of how the system works.

In an interview, executive producers Tara Butters, Chris Dingess, and Michele Fazekas expressed their excitement about the new addition to the cast. They revealed that when the character was presented to them, they already had Smith in mind to play it. In the interview, the producers said that they thought that Smith won't accept the role but they were happy that he did.

According to another source, Smith's character was not mentioned in the original comics, and many speculate that the character was inspired from a different character from the comics.

Smith will be joining other new characters in the show. According to Vine Report, Smith will be joined by newcomer Lotte Verbeek, who will reportedly play the role of Jarvis' wife Anna. The character's description reveals that Anna is a free-spirited woman who becomes good friends with Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell. It was reported that Anna will be helping Peggy adjust in her new life in Los Angeles.

During the recent New York Comic-Con, Jeph Loeb announced that there will be many fan-favorite characters appearing in "Agent Carter" Season 2. He revealed that many of the original cast will be reprising their roles, and these include Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Chad Michael Murray as Chief Jack Thompson, Bridget Regan as Dottie Underwood, Reggie Austin as Dr. Jason Wilkes and Currei Graham as Calvin Chadwick.

"Agent Carter" Season 2 is expected to premiere in the early part of 2016.
