"Castle" Season 8 is rumored to be in its last season on TV following a report from Carter Matt (via Design & Trend) stating that the ABC police procedural drama is on its all-time low. According to the outlet, since the show's premiere in September, the series only managed to receive a 1.2 rating as its highest, with its latest episode receiving only 1.1 rating among viewers aged 18-49.

Much of these figures is attributed to the new showrunners,' Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, decision to separate Castle and Beckett. Add to this the fact that some viewers are almost unimpressed with the show's sense of humor.

The outlet cited several tweets from fans and viewers, including one who claimed that the showrunners' decision to split Castle and Beckett was a "disaster."

While several fans are already expressing their thoughts and sentiments on the show's possible cancellation, a new blind item from TVLine (via Carter Matt) seemingly gave off the impression that either Castle or Beckett will die in the midseason finale of "Castle."

According to the outlet, the blind item stated that a "co-lead" on an "established drama series" may be living their last few days in the series, as the show is headed towards its fall finale. Many fans believed that the blind item was no other than "Castle;" however, the outlet noted that showrunner Hawley has already addressed these rumors.

"[If it were true], I can't imagine we'd be sitting here saying you're going to be excited to see what happens in January. 'Beckett's dead, but don't worry about it, it's still going to be fun!' No, we're not. It's absolutely not true," she said.
