Game developer Bethesda Softworks has released on Thursday a baseball-themed "Fallout 4" gameplay footage. The footage is said to be part of the company's "World Series" celebration and shows off the game's "Big League" perk. The video, which was posted on Facebook, shows how the game will allow players to do massive damage with a melee weapon like a baseball bat, a report from Gamespot said.

"This baseball bat has nails in it and it's super effective. The perk offers a chance to hit a 'grand slam,' which means clearing your enemy's head clean off. The video also provides a look at the post-apocalyptic version of Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox," the report said.

According to Gamerant, players who want to use the "Big League" perk should reach level 42 with a strength rating of 2. This means that the game's perk will not be available instantly in the early part of the game. It was said that the game now features 275 separate perk levels.

"Given that the Fallout 4 Big Leagues perk officially states that gamers will 'gain a chance to grand slam their head clean off,' we imagine the finishing move will be making a return. The video also briefly shows that the Diamond City Security guard is using a 'mahogany baseball bat', which implies there may be a few other types running around the ruins of Boston," the report stated.

It should be noted that baseball bats have been already used as a weapon in both "Fallout 3" and "New Vegas." In "New Vegas," there's a finishing move called "Grand Slam" special "which would see the player swing their weapon akin to a baseball bat, alluding that they'd get a homerun as a result of the swing - albeit with an enemy's face instead of a ball."

"Fallout 4" will be launched on November 10 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
