"Star Wars" fanatics are on the lookout for protagonist Luke.  They are pondering if the force is not strong for the missing character, for they have not felt his presence yet with all the promotional materials that were released recently. The answer, it is for the greater good.

The "The Force Awakens" main man, J.J. Abrams, was asked about the issue during a red carpet interview.  The 49-year old veteran director simply smiled and said that it was no accident, according to a video by the Associated Press.

The director gave no further explanation why Luke Skywalker is not seen in any promotional materials for the film.  Of course, fans simply could not accept the very short answer of the famed director.  Of the entire cast to omit on a "Star Wars" poster and trailer, is the protagonist. In a way, fans are also relieved by the director's answer that Luke is out there.

The said absence has also caused fans to formulate theories as to why Anakin's kid has been missing.  One acceptable theory is, Luke is leaning towards the Dark Side his non-appearance was an act to hide it.  While another theory is, wildly, Luke has morphed into Jar Jar Binks.  However, J.J. Abrams just wants to have a little mystery to the movie.

On a side note, Fandango, a ticket reservation site, experienced some issues when they started selling the latest "Star Wars" ticket, online.   Aficionados that were purchasing their ticket for the upcoming seventh "Star Wars" overwhelmed their server.  The force is strong on this one. "The Force Awakens" ticket sales have has surpassed "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" tickets sales by eight-folds, and it is just on Fandango alone and on day 1 of ticket sales, Cheat Sheet reported.

The latest "Star Wars" movie will hit the theaters on Dec. 18 and hopefully find out why Luke is missing.
