"Days of Our Lives" star Arianne Zucker has exciting news for her character's fans. She recently revealed that Nicole Walker, her role in the long-running soap opera, will experience major changes come 2016.

"I'm fascinated with how different it is, and I just said the other day to one of my bosses that I literally feel like I'm working on a different show. It's really educational, too, to watch it and watch how much change we've been through since the time I started," Zucker told Soap Central.

Zucker started her "DOOL" career in 1998, and she said that playing Nicole has been challenging. The role is portrayed in the daytime drama as someone who is constantly in search of love, and has done many things for that. With new writers coming in to the show's 51st year, the 41-year-old actress is excited for the biggest change in her storyline.

"I think my character was kind of stuck for a couple of years. I think she was stuck on an apology tour for forever, and she was getting blamed for everything. And she was definitely in transition from bad girl to a better version," Zucker said. "I think we're in that land now where the writers are trying to figure out what to do and how to make this character something bigger, stronger -- something!"

One of the more controversial plotlines for Nicole was the baby switch In 2009, when she had a miscarriage and stole Sami's (Alison Sweeney) baby. With all the twists and turns of the soap, Nicole still has not had her own child until now. Will a baby be on the way in 2016?

"After 18 years, you'd think I'd have a baby, at least," the actress jokingly teased. "There are all these teenagers on the show now, and I'm like, "Not one of these are mine?!"

Nicole has seemed to find happiness with Daniel (Shawn Christian), but spoilers hint that this might be short-lived. Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Christian may be exiting the show soon. However, Zucker refused to comment about this.

"I haven't seen anything official on that yet, so I'm not really saying much about that right now," she said.

"Days of Our Lives" airs daily, 1 p.m. on NBC.
