"Sherlock" season 4 will hit the small screen with a Christmas special when it starts airing on New Year's Day. The first episode for the new season is entitled "The Abominable Bride." Fans got to see what to expect with the upcoming episode with a trailer that was released a few days ago.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will be back in the crime investigation television series "Sherlock." Its fourth season will start on Jan. 1, 2016 and will feature a late Victorian era episode back in 1895, Den of Geek posted the synopsis.
"Sherlock's" first episode will revolve around the mystery behind Mrs. Ricoletti's ghost, wearing a wedding gown that has been roaming the streets of London. Thomas Ricoletti, the husband was the last person who saw her wife alive, wearing her old wedding gown. It is said that she has taken her own life, but Sherlock and Watson think otherwise.
Many fans of "Sherlock Holmes" were also interested in knowing the love life of the famous fictional detective. That is also what the fans would like to see in the modern day adaptation of the novel. However, "Sherlock" is portraying that Holmes has only one true love, which is his best friend, Dr. Watson. Many also see that the friendship between Holmes and Watson is more than platonic and many believe that the renowned detective is gay.
"Sherlock's" co-creator, Steven Moffat had issued this statement to set the record straight. "We walk into that one all the time... It's a funny thing when a character for over 100 years has been saying, 'I don't do that.'," Moffat said to EW.
"Doctor Watson is very clear that he prefers women. People want to fantasize about it. It's fine. But it's not in the show," he added.
"Sherlock" season 4 will start airing on Jan. 1, 2016 on PBS.
