Some people are just plain right talented. Some talents are just evident way too early in life, just like this kid, Joey Alexander. He was interviewed on CNN by Amara Walker for the two categories that he was nominated for.

Joey is a 12 year old jazz artist, and he said that he was so grateful and that he thanks the Lord, and he is so humbled by all this. He calls himself a self taught artist, although he did have a teacher at one time but, having a teacher didn't last very long. He owes his talent to his parents who loved the same genre of music, especially his dad. Soon after, he was able to jam with others who love to play the same music he likes, that helped developed his ability to play jazz.

On his interview with CNN, the video showed a part of him saying, "My playing comes from the heart and not from technique, but from the heart, and that's jazz."

Joey does not like being called a prodigy although he appreciates it. He just simply wants to be called and know for as a jazz musician. He thanks the Grammys for taking notice of the talent that he has. He started playing piano when he was six years old. His fans include Billy Crystal and Bill Clinton that makes him a world renowned!

He was asked if he can see himself doing jazz for a long time, and he sad that he would like to do it and share music with the world.

When asked what his advice would be to kids like his age, his fans and to others who look up to him, he replied,  "for me to always have hope, and always work hard, and never give up."

It was also said that if Joey winds the awards he was nominated for, he will be the first in Grammys to make history being a young artist awarded a Grammy.
