America is famous for its historical personalities, Hollywood, technological innovations, and music. It is also where some of the world's iconic and most recognizable buildings can be found. These structures are notable for their history, architectural details, or engineering feat.

Here are excellent examples of what made America home to some of the world's iconic buildings.

Seattle Central Library

Architecture isn't as easy as it seems, and the Seattle Central Library is proof of this. Designed in a very odd but mesmerizing shape, the Seattle Central Library was designed by two skilled architects named Rem Koolhaas and Joshua Prince-Ramus.

The beautiful building is made of steel and glass and can house up to 1.45 million books thanks to the building's 11 floors and 56.9 9 meter height.

The Transamerica Pyramid

The Transamerica Pyramid isn't only a captivating sight. But it's also one of the tallest buildings you can find in San Francisco along with Salesforce Tower, 555 California Street Building, and 181 Fremont Street building. The Transamerica Pyramid towers at 211.8 meters.

You can climb the tower via the two wings, with one having an elevator and another with a staircase. The building is made with aluminum panels at the top where the symbolic Crown Jewels shine bright during holidays.

Chrysler Building

Since we are talking about iconic buildings, the Chrysler Building is as iconic as it gets with its beautiful Art Deco architecture. The terraced crown at the top shows seven layers or arches that make for an elegant showstopper.

Inside the Chrysler Building, you'll find the lobby detailed with Moroccan marble walls in red. It's rectangular and provides up to three entries. This building has 32 elevators and the first digital clock in the world.

White House

The White House is probably one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. This is where the President of the United States lives and performs his duties. The historical building was built sometime between 1792 and 1800. It comprises various sections, including the Blair house, the west and east wing, the executive office building, and the executive residence.

Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is a world-famous building located in Manhattan, New York City. This beautiful piece of architectural masterpiece towers at 443.2 meters while the roof is 380 meters tall. Designed by William F. Lamb, the Empire State Building began its construction in 1930 and completed in 1931.

The building consists of 102 stories, with 85 of them dedicated to office spaces. The Empire State Building attracts up to four million tourists per year.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Falling Water is a house built over a waterfall in Laurel Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania. Falling Water was built as a vacation home for Liliane Kaufmann and her husband, Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr.

Falling Water has become a famous tourist attraction and is already inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
