According to Live Science, the infamous property is now for sale in most online real estate marketplace. Although, it is categorized as a bed-and-breakfast real estate property.

Going back to the previous history of the said property, the person in question named Lizzie Borden was accused of the murder of both her father and stepmother in 1892.

She has allegedly used a hatchet to murder her parents during that time, hence why she called the Brutal Axe Murderer.

Even though she was eventually tried for the murder after the two bodies of her parents were discovered in the 4th of August, 1892, she eventually acquitted due to the lack of proper evidence to the said crime that happened.

The murder of both Andrew and Abby Borden was gruesome, each receiving multiple numbers of fatal blows to the head and the body (19 for Andrew, while 11 for Abby).

The supposedly used murder weapon was a hatchet allegedly used by Lizzie. The lack of evidence at the end managed to set her free, even though it has been noted that Lizzie and her parents frequently quarrel with each other.

Now, years and centuries later, the once infamous murder house scene is now a museum, called the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast / Museum.

The once housing turned commercial real estate is now adorned with correct century furnishings, decors, and memorabilia from 1892. Those are used to help recreate the grim history the building had in its past.

Sadly, the current owner wants to retire this piece of history for the asking price of $2 million, which is not a bad amount compared to other buildings involved in infamous crimes that were also sold.

Other Details of the Brutal Axe Murderer (Former) Real Estate Property

According to The New York Times, many potential buyers are still willing to purchase the said property, even though it was once stained in blood by murdered victims.

And thanks to its dark and infamous history, the current owners of the property were able to make a living with the tourism of the said property up until the global COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to the general tourism within the country.

In 2019 alone, the said museum and bed and breakfast inn that is currently located in Massachusetts attracted more than 18,000 visitors that year.

Sure, it may not be a huge number compared to others, but it managed to help the current owners to maintain the upkeep costs of the said infamous property.
