Apple's New Podcast Adaptation of WeWork Adds Two Famous Celebrities
According to The Verge, Apple will add the two mentioned celebrities to the latest adaptation of a real-life soap opera (which is quite the trend in many TV shows nowadays).
The said adaptation will be in a podcast format, meaning that it will be an audio-only episodic series that will be mostly broadcasted on online media platforms like YouTube and Twitch. However, users also have the ability to download each episode to their device for offline consumption.
Going back to the show itself, WeCrashed is a podcast adaptation of the real-life soap opera named WeWork wherein it is centered around the downfall of a specific real estate company that tried to bill itself as a technology company instead.
The main characters of the said show are the Neumanns, wherein Leto will be playing the character of Adam Neumann while Hathaway will be playing Rebekah Neumann respectively. The said podcast will show the dark minds of those said characters like for example, Rebekah fired multiple people/employees since they aren't of her liking, while Adam is thinking of world domination by being the world president.
Due to the natural eccentric personalities of the said characters of the podcast show, the cast of both stars seems a perfect choice. Notably, both Leto and Hathaway have played eccentric and downright weird characters in many movies, like when Leto was supposed to play the Prince of Crime, Joker from the famous Batman series in the movie "Suicide Squad", while Hathaway was famously known for playing Daphne Kluger, a member of the heist team in Oceans 8.
WeCrashed would be one of the many shows that are taking advantage of the rising hit of the tech drama genre in soap opera shows. However, there is no specific date on when the show will be released to the public. And if you are in need of immediate WeWork-related media and consumption, then there are other adaptations and shows that you can watch from your end.
Other Details of WeCrashed in Apple TV's Program Line-up
According to Bloomberg, the said show will be a limited series that will be first airing on the Apple TV online streaming service. Aside from the mentioned characters' dark motives, the show will also center around the office drama of WeWork, where the original soap opera was named after.
The show will be co-written by "The Office" fame Lee Einsberg. He will also act as the executive producer and showrunner of the said podcast series. He will be partnered with Drew Crevello in the creation and production of the said podcast series.
Aside from WeCrashed, expect other shows to be launched in the Apple TV streaming service, in order to attract new and old customers alike.
