A TikTok user has recently posted a video, rallying his followers to roast the worst New York City apartment he has found ever. We will see if the said roasting of the worst apartment in NYC is well-deserved or not.
Worst NYC Apartment Gets Roasted by TikTok Users
According to Brobible, a recent TikTok user by the name of "New York City Realtor" has posted a video on his account encouraging his followers (and those who have seen his video) to mockingly roast the said property. The main reason as to why the TikTok user in question is encouraging the roasting of the said property is due to the ludicrous price it demands, despite the ongoing pandemic globally.
Do take note that the TikTok user's action isn't without a basis on the ludicrous price he has stated on his uploaded video. Unlike other states and its neighboring cities around it, the real estate market in New York City still stays very expensive among others.
Even though many people have moved out from the said city, it seemingly instead encouraged the increase of prices in many real estate properties within the city, instead of lowering. It is estimated that more than 3.57 million people have moved out of New York City in order to avoid the crowded state of the city that can be the main source of infections of COVID-19.
Now, the person behind the TikTok account of "New York City Realtor" is none other than Cameron Knowlton. He is the owner of the multitude of videos about many real estate units and properties that he sees as ludicrous and just plain wrong from his end.
He then recorded a video of the property he believes that is truly worth the roasting he wants to happen: a $1650 NYC apartment that, according to Cameron, is the worst apartment in NYC to date.
If you are wondering where is the infamous unit is located in NYC, it is located in West Village. And yes, Cameron is not joking about the $1,650 price tag of the said apartment. The price tag doesn't justify the following:
- A mini-fridge
- No oven
- No stove
- No freezer
- A tiny closet
- No bathroom nor shower
- Common bathroom & shower instead
Seeing how the place isn't worth any single penny, Cameron requested his followers to roast the apartment's rating in many real estate online marketplaces, in order to put down this kind of atrocious and effectively dubious real estate property.
New York City's Housing Problem Has Been Its Thorn To Itself Way Before the Pandemic
The example above is one of the proof that there is a housing problem in NYC that has been considered by many experts as its own localized housing crisis. According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, it has been reported in 2019 that the city itself cannot catch up with the ever-growing and continuous demand for affordable yet reliable housing.
Add to that, in that time period, the job growth spurt the city has experienced for many years. All of that created a housing crisis within the city, that even became worse in 2020 when the pandemic struck the country.
