Every city in the world boasts a community of breathtaking skyscraper that houses some of the biggest and most sought-after offices and apartment.
But gone are the days when New York City boasts the world's tallest buildings as it is slowly being taken over by a small but terrible Asian country, China. Aside from being the most populous country, China also houses some of the world's tallest buildings.
According to the New York Post, in the past ten years, China has built more than 300 establishments, but some remain vacant. This year, five out of the ten tallest building structures in the world came from China.
Below are the world's top ten buildings starting from the not-so-smallest establishment from Taipei.
Top 10: Taipei 101
This 1,667 square-feet tall building in Xinyi District was only built 2004. It was previously known as Taipei World Financial Center in Taiwan. Taipei 101 houses the world-famous indoor observation deck found on the 88th and 89th floors. It also features two outdoor observation deck on the 91st and 101st floor, which offers a 360-degree view of the city that attracts visitors worldwide.
Top 9: CITIC Tower
This 1,731 feet tall building also known as "China Zun" features a 109-storey structure. Built in 2018, CITIC Tower is now considered the tallest building in Beijing after surpassing the World Trade Center Tower III by 190 meters.
Top 8: Tianjin CTF Finance Center
This 1,739 feet long building in Tianjin, China took six years of construction from 2013 to 2019. It is the second tallest building in Tianjin, next to Goldin Finance 117. The Tianjin CTF Finance Center is home to a hotel, serviced apartments, and offices.
Top 7: Guangzhou CTF Finance Center
This super skyscraper found in Guangzhou, China stands 1,739 feet was built in 2016. It boasts 111 above-ground floors and another five below-ground floor occupied by a shopping mall, offices, apartments and a hotel.
Top 6: One World Trade Center
The only Big Apple building that made it on the list stands at 1,776 feet tall. It is the reconstructed World Trade Center Complex and completed in 2014. While it remains the tallest building in the United States, it only landed on 6th spot on the world's list.
Top 5: Lotte World Tower
This famous structure found at the heart of Seoul, South Korea stands 1,819 feet tall. It took 13 years to plan this 123-storey building, which was built in 2017.
Top 4: Ping An Finance Center
Built in 2017, this 1965 feet tall building with 115 floors is located at Shenzhen, China. The high-rise is home for a conference center, a high-end shopping mall, a hotel, and retail spaces.
Top 3: Makkah Royal Clock Tower
This Saudi Arabian building stands 1,972 feet tall was completed in 2012. The government-owned structure cost a whopping $15 billion to build.
Top 2: Shanghai Tower
This super skyscraper constructed in 2015 stands 2,073 feet long with 128 floors. Its elevator runs 20,5 meters per second.
Top 1: Burj Khalifa
The past decade's reigning tallest building in the world could be found in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It stands 2,717 feet long with 163 floors home for luxurious apartments, the world's most advanced and fastest elevator, and the world's highest observation deck.
