Prominent Luxury Real Estate Brokers Charged in Sex Trafficking Case: Here's What To Know

Oren and Tal Alexander, brothers who are prominent figures in the luxury real estate industry, and their sibling, Alon, have been charged and indicted on sex trafficking charges for allegedly drugging, sexually assaulting, and raping dozens of women since at least 2010.

Twins Alon and Oren, 37, were arrested by state authorities on Wednesday morning on sexual battery charges. They are to be transported into federal custody after making an initial appearance in state court.

Their 38-year-old brother, Tal, was also arrested Wednesday and brought before a federal judge in Florida. He is expected to make another court appearance on Friday, according to CNN, citing a spokesman for the FBI's New York field office.

The Alexander brothers are all facing 15 years to life in prison.

Who Are the Alexander Brothers?

The Alexander brothers are well-known in the luxury real estate industry. Oren and Tal, specifically, gained fame as high-profile brokers of ultra-luxury properties.

Their careers began at Douglas Elliman, where they both focused on markets in New York and Miami. The pair later created "The Alexander Team" at the firm. They brokered several high-value deals, including a $47 million mansion sale in Miami in 2012 and a $238 million Manhattan penthouse sale in 2019. Both sales broke records at the time.

Two years ago, Oren and Tal launched their own firm called Official.

Alon, on the other hand, is an executive at Kent Security, the family-owned security company. He has not been directly involved in the luxury real estate business.

What Are the Alexander Brothers Accused Of?

The brothers are accused of following a "playbook" where they recruit and lure women to private locations where they would drug, sexually assault, or rape them. They are also accused of covertly administering GHB and cocaine to incapacitate their victims, per ABC News, citing indictment documents.

Additionally, the brothers were accused of physically restraining their victims during assaults and ignoring their pleas to stop.

The charges against them focus only on sexual assault cases that occurred from 2010 to 2021. However, investigators found evidence that they may have been raping women for more than 20 years, including while they were still in high school, the Washington Post reported.
