Although Marvel Cinematic Universe's next offering, Ant-Man, is done with filming, according to CinemaBlend, its director Peyton Reed has revealed that they are re-shooting some more scenes. With these minor revisions, rumors circulated that a Spider-man cameo might come in or if not, some Easter eggs for the fans and the diehards.
The online movie review authority also reported that it is hard not to speculate that something big is up their sleeves since the movie has long wrapped up since December of 2014 and without the minor revisions, the movie is a standalone as it is. Also, Cinemablend cited the complexity of the Sony-Marvel Cinematic Universe Spiderman ownership negotiation.
But one thing is for sure, this MCU's next offering is definitely the second phase of the larger Marvel Universe Realm, which will eventually lead to the ultimate dream of all, the Infinity Gauntlet Series.
To add, ScreenRant also mentioned that it is not likely for Spidey to make a cameo in the upcoming Ant-Man film since the latter will make an appearance too in the third phase to set the biggest stage of all. Also, they reported that if ever the cameo will not be there, 100% sure, Easter eggs will be everywhere.
However, at this point, speculations of the Spidey debut is hanging in the balance since the actor who will play the web-slinging hero is yet to be named. Although there were names thrown out in the mix, still there were no confirmation from either MCU or Sony, who holds rights to the legendary hero.
Nonetheless, these are mere speculations and just might be a marketing strategy to help the so-called lesser-known Marvel character get a more wider fanbase in comparison to its MCU counterparts.
