When J.K. Rowling was interviewed about another movie adaptation named 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' to hit theaters next year, the multimillion-selling author of 'Harry Potter' hinted that 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry' might have an American version.
For several years, fans all over the world have been keeping tabs on the artistry of J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the book series 'Harry Potter,' which also became a movie hit altogether. Quite recently, another movie rendition of one of her novels is set to hit theaters by next year, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. The story revolves around a similar setting shown in Harry Potter. According to New York Daily News, the novel depicts a setting 70 years prior to the establishment of 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,' the famous school where Harry Potter and the rest of his friends went to.
As we all remember, Harry Potter scenes were set in Europe, even Hogwarts. But in Rowling's interview, she revealed that there might be a U.S. version of the famous Hogwarts School. She further stated that her fans and that of the movie will have the opportunity to have a glimpse of this 'American' Hogwarts during the spinoff. In fact, Rowling posted on Twitter this possibility that would be catered in the next movie rendition of her book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.'
THE SETTING PREDICTIONS
'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,' being a spinoff of 'Harry Potter,' was set during the 1920s, and way before some of the leading Harry Potter characters were even born. It is anticipated that fans will get to see how interesting American Hogwarts used to be before the English leads in 'Harry Potter' emerged.
The famous platform '9 and 3/4' is not present in this side of the story. However, there is a Union Square Subway Station containing an L train, which started to operate during the 1920s. Also, this train does not run during the weekends in the human world. Most probably because witches are traveling through it to reach Manhattan by Floo Network, the chimney portal introduced in 'Harry Potter.' Quite possible, right?
According to Time, fans also speculate that the same houses are already present in the new movie, such as Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. This source also predicts that the common sport Quidditch in 'Harry Potter' was also already a hit during the 1920s' Hogwarts and that the professors might be called Sir or Ma'am or Mr. and Mrs., just like how people addressed someone in the 1920s. And have I mentioned that the school might be nicknamed Dub Prep instead of Hogwarts?
Many predictions surround the upcoming movie rendition of J.K. Rowling's 2001 book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.' 'Harry Potter' fans are dying to see the much-anticipated American Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the movie.
Which of the predictions do you think will most likely appear in the movie? 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' will be out in theaters come November 18, 2016.
