"Penny Dreadful" Season 2 will be airing its finale episode, which is titled "And They Were Enemies," next week. Showtime released two new teaser trailers for the upcoming episode, which shows Vanessa (Eva Green) relying on her own strength to defeat the demon in the first clip and Ethan (Josh Hartnett) leaving a trail of blood in the second, Hollywood Hills cited.
Carter Matt predicts that the Season 2 finale of "Penny Dreadful" will be an "electrifying conclusion to the story of Vanessa and Ethan for now, and may at the same time set the stage for what should be a heck of an epic third season."
The outlet also cited the possibility that more characters will be killed off in the upcoming episode, as the recently released promo clips are already hinting at some form of bloodshed.
The penultimate episode of "Penny Dreadful," which is titled "And Hell Itself My Only Foe," showed Vanessa entering Evelyn's mansion on her own. The team decided to follow after her and rescue her and Malcolm (Timothy Dalton).
The latest episode of the Showtime series also showed Sembene's (Danny Sapani) last moments on the show, as he ended up getting locked at the stairwell with Ethan. Dorian (Reeve Carney) and Lily (Billie Piper) also shared some bloody moments, as the latter tries to bite his ear off.
