"Penny Dreadful" Season 2 finale may have seen the death of several characters, including the defeat of Lucifer, but it turns out, Lily and Dorian are being poised towards becoming the next Big Bad in Season 3.

The Showtime series, "Penny Dreadful" has recently wrapped up its second season in the episode titled, "And They Were Enemies." As the network has already ordered for the show's third season on TV, several fans were wondering if Lily (Brona Croft) and Dorian (Reeve Carney) will be a Big Bad next season.
Showrunner and writer John Logan did not confirm the rumors about Lily and Dorian, but he hinted that these two characters will play a "big part" in "Penny Dreadful" Season 3.
"Certainly, as characters - like you said as this new power couple - they're quite formidable... Because whereas The Creature wants to be a part of humanity, to be one with humanity, and to be accepted by other people, Lily and Dorian want to rule over humanity," he said, according to Carter Matt.
Meanwhile, "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 will also see a possible romance brewing between Vanessa (Eva Green) and Ethan (Josh Hartnett).
In another interview with EW, the showrunner hinted that there is always hope for a romance taking place between two of its lead stars, Vanessa and Ethan.
"They're fascinating characters for me, and they're both in a very dark and desolate place and have been for a long time, and the idea of two characters in need coming together and trying to find some grace or lightness in the various curses that surround them was obviously very interesting," explained Logan.
"Penny Dreadful" Season 3 will begin production in Dublin and will run for nine episodes.
