Steven Spielberg, Hollywood Director and Producer and together with his wife Kate Capshaw, bid farewell to their enormous compound in Malibu. The property was sold off the market for only $26 million.
LA Curbed says the property was sold less than what was expected. It has been rumored that the property of Steven Spielberg was about $35 million, for the house and two-parcel property. The two parcel property were bought in separate business transactions. The first deal was on 1989, and the other purchased was on 2000. The property was bought for a total of $6.57 million excluding the renovation costs.
The house, that has a floor area of 7,237-square-foot, has 6 bedrooms, multiple terraces, and a pool. Its master bedroom is located on the second floor with an Oceanside terrace, a massage room and a library. Since it is owned by Spielberg, the house has its own top-of-the-line home screening room. It also has a detached guesthouse with two bedrooms. The beach frontage is about 150 feet.
The property had been rented out for $125,000 in 2013, and then last summer the price rose to $150,000-- a month before they decided to sell the property.
LA Times reports that the extravagant house (a craftsman inspired) was built in 1992. Its courtyard has a swimming pool and a spa that are adjacently situated to the main house, while "meandering paths lead down to the breakwater."
Daily Mail UK reiterates that report of Variety that in the neiborhood of this mansion has been a home to famous Hollywood start like Dustin Hoffman, Ray Romano, couple Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman, and Pierce Brosnan.
According to a source, the buyer of the Malibu mansion of Spielberg in the off-market deal was none other than estate baron Steve Gozini.
Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw are still residing in their main home, still near their former home in Malibu, Westside LA of Pacific Palisades.
