New Movie Updates: Tom Cruise Goes Back for 'Jack Reacher 2'

"Jack Reacher 2" is definitely going to make Tom Cruise continue his chart-topping performance in action films. Following the success of his most recently released "Mission Impossible: Rogue Mission," the actor just doesn't seem to stop making films as his ultimate hobby for many years to come.

According to The Guardian, Paramount is going to test out the success of Tom Cruise films in recent polls this year as they have decided to add another installment to 2012's "Jack Reacher" movie.

It was just two weeks ago when "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" dominated the movie scene garnering up to $55.2 million gross sales on over its July 31 weekend release, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Seemingly, Paramount is not taking any chances and let Tom Cruise have a break as he is yet to participate in the upcoming "Jack Reacher 2" franchise, the second installment of the 2012 hit "Jack Reacher" movie.

Fans did not anticipate that a sequel to the said movie would be possible as it was not as successful in the market at "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" turned out to be.

When "Jack Reacher" hit the screens last 2012, it was only able to earn $138.3 million overseas, a small profitable venture as compared to its $100 million gross profit sales for the said franchise. However, since Cruise seem to be unstoppable nowadays, Paramount decided to let him enjoy the spotlight a little while longer.

"Jack Reacher 2" is going to be directed by Ed Zwich, the same person who Cruise worked on his other hit movie "The Last Samurai" way back early 2000. Furthermore, Cruise is also expected to participate in the sixth installment of "Mission Impossible," which will be under production this coming summer 2016, prior to its June or July 2017 release date.

Furthermore, Cruise is also currently participating in the making of "Mena", a 1980s drug thriller movie that is due to release on screens this coming January 6, 2017.

Truly, Tom Cruise is going to be absolutely preoccupied with making movies for two consecutive years to come. With "Jack Reacher 2" set to hit the big screen soon after the success of "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" in its first couple of weeks, he is sure to make the fans entertained with his action-packed movies that seemingly put at as at the edge of our seats.
