How ironic can it be that KFC names Norm Macdonald, a similar name to the food chain's market competition, as the new face of the "real Colonel Sanders?" He replaced Darrel Hammond, his co-star in the hit TV Show "Saturday Night Live," as the new face of the fast food giant KFC.
KFC is dominating the comedic world as the company hired a new face for their brand as Colonel Sanders. Apparently, the company could not get enough out of "Saturday Night Live" as they replaced Darrell Hammond with Norm MacDonald as the new Colonel Sanders.
The fast-food giant already starred MacDonald in a few of their advertisements last posted on August 16, reported US Magazine.
In the video, Hammond watched the television screen and apparently, got surprised when he saw a new Colonel Sanders taking his title on the icon.
He allegedly stated, "Hey! That's not the real Colonel Sanders! I'm the real Colonel Sanders. And this is how you sell chicken." Hammond was not seemingly pleased by the new impostor taking his crown.
After which, MacDonald, dressed as the new Colonel Sanders, told the audience, "Howdy, folks, it's me, the real Colonel Sanders." Which is which?
The ad then showed MacDonald sarcastically declaring that KFC was using comedians to sell chicken to the public. He then said, "it's come to my attention that there's an imposter Colonel out there. He's trying to be me. That's crazy. They can't just grab some super funny Hollywood actor, throw a white suit on him, and try to pass him off as the real Colonel Sanders. And I should know, because I am Colonel Sanders." The fight ends there. MacDonald is definitely the company's new face for KFC.
According to Kansas City, KFC's chief marketing officer, Kevin Hochman, declared that MacDonald is the company's best choice of actor to portray Colonel Sanders during a press release.
He further indicated that Norm MacDonald has officially replaced his "Saturday Night Live" co-star Darrell Hammond as their company's face, and will be seen more frequently on new commercials for KFC.
