"Castle" season eight fans will be seeing some major changes from the previous season's events.
"Castle" fans will be in for a treat, according to show runner, Alexi Hawley. "This year, we really do want to get into what happened when he was gone in a way that hopefully ties a lot of the threads of mysteries of seven seasons together in an unexpected and exciting way," Hawley said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"What we know so far about season eight is that Beckett will finally have the promotion that she truly deserves," he continued. Hawley further explained in the interview that the past seven seasons will then interconnect on the upcoming season.
"Castle" season eight rumors talked about Castle's investigation regarding his father's disappearance. Alexis will have a bigger part to play in the new season. The father-daughter team will have the chance to get involved in several cases together. As Alexis gets into her senior year in college, she would be joining his father in his private investigative firm.
"Castle's" feature of romantic relationship between Richard Castle and Kate Becket will still go on, though there will be several personal and professional issues that would get in their way.
Fans should expect that there will be a lot of development between the two, as the show creator, Terence Paul Winter put it, "It's always been about the Castle-Beckett love story. That's steeped in the DNA of the show, and that's what it will always be. Now, it's about exploring the next evolution of it. How do we deepen that love story? What challenges can we put their way that can put their romance at a much higher, different place?" Deadline reported.
"Castle" season eight will premiere on ABC, Monday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m.
