Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Slam Breakup Rumors: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Actor Concerned Over Nina Dobrev’s Career?

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed were previously rumored to be having some problems because of the couple's conflicting plans on starting a family. While the newlywed couple stayed mum about these allegations, new reports claimed that the 36-year-old actor and "Twilight" actress have recently purchased their first marital home. Are they ready to start their own family?

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder tied the knot in April after nine months of dating. While the couple is consistently met with speculations and rumors (including those involving Nina Dobrev), it looks like all's well between Reed and Somerhalder. According to Variety, Somerhalder and Reed have recently purchased their first marital home in California.

The Venice pad was sold by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, who purchased the lot under $2.76 million last year. Reed and Somerhalder purchased Smith's three-bedroom, 2,800 square feet property for $2.85 million. Does this mean Reed and Somerhalder are already looking into starting their own family?

Just last week, Realty Today reported on rumors, which claimed that Reed and Somerhalder were having some problems because the latter wanted to start a family, but Reed wanted to focus on her career. This big step in the newlywed couple's life definitely seems like they're looking forward to their future together.

Meanwhile, a new report from Celeb Dirty Laundry claims that Somerhalder is concerned over his ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev's career. According to the outlet, Somerhalder is concerned that once "The Vampire Diaries" comes to a conclusion, he would have to suffer the same fate as Dobrev.

Dobrev recently chose to drop out of TVD after Season 6 and chose to pursue a career in the movie industry. Unfortunately, Dobrev failed to succeed in her chosen path and has expressed her desire to join "Empire" and "True Detective." Somerhalder is reportedly "scrambling to find work" in the event that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will be its last on The CW.
