Taylor Swift is being sued by Colorado radio DJ David Mueller, who was fired after he was falsely accused of groping her, Mail Online reported.
The DJ who is known as the “Jackson,” filed a lawsuit in Denver’s U.S. District Court which stems from a backstage event in June 2013, where Mueller with his girlfriend and co-worker Shannon Melcher, attended a meet-and-greet with Swift at the Pepsi Center.
It is claimed that while Mueller and his girlfriend were chatting with Swift, the superstar suggested taking a photo together. During that moment, Swift allegedly claimed that Mueller lifted her “skirt with his hands and grabbed her bottom.”
Following her claim, Swift’s security team surrounded Mueller and Melcher and banned them from the event.
A series of phone calls between Swifts' management team and the 98.5 KYGO station occurred after the incident. Two days later, Mueller was fired as co-host of the 98.5 KYGO Ryno and Jackson morning show.
“The contention that Mr. Mueller lifted up Ms. Swift’s skirt and grabbed her bottom, while standing with his girlfriend, in front of Ms. Swift’s photographer and Ms. Swift’s highly trained security personnel, during a company sponsored, VIP, backstage meet-and-greet, is nonsense, particularly given that Ms. Swift’s skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand in the photograph,” said the lawsuit, according to Gossip Cop.
"The radio station was given evidence immediately after the incident. They made their independent decision," Swift's spokeswoman Tree Paine said in an email with CNN.
The lawsuit added that in "the photograph, Ms. Swift is smiling and hugging Ms. Melcher. Although Mr. Mueller's hand is behind Ms. Swift and therefore not visible, it is clear that her skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller's hand. Similarly, Ms. Swift's hand is behind Mr. Mueller and therefore not visible."
Mueller had been working in the radio station for more than 20 years earning $150,000 a year, excluding appearance fees, endorsement deals, and bonuses. He had met stars from Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey without incident, the Denver Post reported.
