Lindsay Lohan was suppose to be bound for Toronto on Sept. 13 to promote her next film "Inconceivable" for the Toronto International Film Festival, but Lohan's Canada trip was cancelled. The film was first announced two years ago during a Sundance press conference.
Reports said that the "Mean Girls" star couldn't make it due to conflict of schedule since she is starting a shooting with Randall Emmett and George Furla producing alongside Mike Burns. Apart from that, it’s unclear what other commitments she has at the moment.
The cancellation of her trip sparked speculations that her troubled past has seen her banned from Canada, Mail Online reported. The star had an extensive rap sheet and has spent time in jail which could be one reason why she didn't make it to Toronto.
Canada has strict policies on not allowing visitors in the country with a criminal record. Although Canada had ease the restriction with an implementation of an application and $200 fine, it will still be a challenge for the star since she already spent time behind bars and was convicted of Driving Under Influence.
Per Canadian law, visitors may be found "criminally inadmissible" to the country for reasons such as "theft, assault, manslaughter, dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and possession of or trafficking in drugs or controlled substances," said The Hollywood Reporter.
Other sources claimed that the actress wanted to fly first class but it wasn't an option because of the budget. A representative for "Inconceivable" producers, Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films, told PageSix: “I just know she was not able to come [to Canada],” but added the issue was that everyone was “busy.”
A day before the change of schedule, Lohan posted an incoherent message on Instagram that confused her followers, resulting into different comments. Others referred to her as "crazy" while some said she was drugged while posting it. Still others defended Lohan.
