Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Smartphones To Be Released on Google's Sept. 29 Event Alongside New Chromecast

Google's new Nexus phones named Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, alongside a new Chromecast will be released in Google's upcoming Sept. 29 event.

Google intended to use X and P for the phone's names to avoid confusion with other flagships. Also, Huawei, which is building the new 6-inch phone, had been using the letter P, The Verge reported.

The smaller Nexus 5X phone is from LG, while the Nexus 6P phone is Huawei-made. LG's phone is rumored to have a 5.2-inch display, which is slightly larger than the old Nexus 5 while the Huawei device is said to be phablet-sized with 5.7-inch in display.

Leaked photos of the Nexus 5X device shows a different look from its predecessors, featuring a fingerprint sensor on the back just beneath a protruding camera. Meanwhile, the Nexus 6, which was previously from Motorola, will look blockier under Huawei featuring a large camera strip sticking out of the phone's back.

Both phones will run with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Nexus 5X will feature a 1080p display, a Snapdragon 808 chip, 3GB RAM, a 2,700mAh battery, 16-megapixel back camera, and USB Type-C connector while the Nexus 6P will have a Quad HD display, with a Snapdragon 820 chip, a 21-megapixel camera, and USB Type-C, Stuff TV reported.

The Nexus 6P would be the first Nexus phone that will offer a 128GB storage which is also available at 32GB and 64GB, according to the Android Police.

Aside from the new phones, Google will also launch an update to its Chromecast TV box, which is about the size of a USB thumb drive. It comes in new colors (yellow, black and red) with faster connectivity and shows different feeds like from Twitter, the Independent reported.

The new Chromecast is the second version of the little box, costing about £30 in the UK, allowing viewers to stream movies and shows from the Internet.

It will add the features "Fast Play" and faster Internet in order to play content more quickly as well as a "Google Cast for Audio" to stream music since the Chromecast can be plugged into external speakers.
