‘Death Note’ 2016 Movie Now in Production; Is New Plot Separate From Original Manga and Anime Series?

"Death Note" 2016 movie is now in production. However, the plot is said to separate from the original manga and or anime series.

Yibada reports that this popular TV drama "Death Note" has paved its way to the big screen, and production is already underway. So far, the final title of the film adaptation is still kept under wraps, and simply dubbed as "Death Note 2016 movie."

Report says that the film adaptation was announced after the finale episode of the anime series which was broadcasted "on Nippon TV since July alongside a teaser video." This is not only the first time that "Death Note" has been adapted in the big screen. In 2006, it had released an outstanding two-part films- "Death Note" and "Death Note: The Last Name." The movie broke box office records and earned a gross sale of 8 million yen.

After 10 years the preceding films, Otaku Mode says that the upcoming "Death Note" movie is a sequel, yet it will have an entirely different plot. Rumor has it that the synopsis revolves about the "information society of the highest order that frequently unleashes cyberterrorism on the world." In addition to this speculation, the movie might also feature Light Yagami and L's successors. At this point, details of "who inherited the wills of the two and who is in possession of a Death Note" is still unknown.

While the "Death Note" plot has not been confirmed yet, another spoilers have been circulating giving away information such as the "Six-note Rule" having a vital role in the upcoming film. Nerd Reactor also adds that hints are being spilled of what could be in store from the teaser video that was released. So there might be little information about the movie, yet one can decipher from the keywords that come along the teaser, keywords like "Light Yagami, Rebirth," "L's Successor," "Misa Amane," "Shinigami's Eyes," and "Note's Seal."
