Surface Pro 4 Rumors: Intel Skylake, Office 365 to be Revealed on Oct. 6; Surface Pen Goes Head-On with Apple Pencil

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 appears to be all set to launch at a scheduled media event that will happen on Oct. 6. However, the tech titan is still keeping its silence about the device, while the Internet users are speculating that the phone is made to refresh the Surface series, as well as take on many competitors that have emerged recently, including the iPad Pro.

Surface Pro 3 was hugely thought of as a successful device despite not having garnered big sales for Microsoft. On this year, however, Apple has beaten its rival with the launch of the iPad Pro laptop or tablet hybrid, but Android Origin said that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 could soon lead the market as it is to come with better software and hardware.

Surface Pro 4 fans are expecting that the device will be bigger and within the size of the iPad Pro, which has a screen size of 12.9-inch. There are also indications that the tablet or laptop hybrid from Microsoft will come in two sizes, one with a 14-inch screen and the smaller one, with a 12-inch screen.

The scheduled event on Oct. 6 is expected to focus on the devices that will be running Windows 10, the same operating system, which the Surface Pro 4 reportedly will run on. There are gossips that the phone will also provide the users with a free One Drive for storage or Office 365, to prod customers to purchase.

The Surface Pen is also going to be redesigned if rumors are to be believed. A lot has pointed toward Microsoft's purchase of the N-Trig and suggested that the pressure sensing technology will be included on the stylus, bringing it at par with the Apple Pencil, Tech Radar reported.

The Surface Pro 4 kickstand is not expected to change, but the on-board storage could be enhanced. As for the processor, it seems that Microsoft will use the latest Intel Skylake editions.
