"Person of Interest" Season 5 will make its comeback in 2016. Harold (Michael Emerson), Root (Amy Acker) and John Reese (Jim Caviezel) will be obsessed with their battle with Artificial Intelligence and Samaritan, in the upcoming 13 episodes to air.
The cast and crew of "Person of Interest" explored the San Diego Comic Con for what seems to be the last for the series. This was the chance for them to finally answer all the speculations about the upcoming episodes. If this will be the last season, Jonathan Nolan, the show's producer explains, "I can't predict down the road but we're very proud of the show and if it's the last season, no one is going to be disappointed with the story we tell."
Emerson said that the war against Samaritan has changed the team. Now that the Samaritan has become an obsession, it will become hazardous. In a manner that it is more risky, fans can only find out on TV, the notion about the Team's obsession on the Samaritan is plausible, and will definitely give goosebumps. Emerson added, "I try to hold onto that idea that what they're up against is the end of humankind potentially. Those are high stakes."
As for Root, she may have some adjustments to make with Finch's creation. Finch will also focus on the Samaritan, after he realizes that Root is up against the possibility of ending the human race. Their relationship with also change and will be exposed to challenges, as Root's vulnerabilities will slowly unfold. Furthermore, there will be a possible casualty in the team.
As for other speculations about the show's cancellation, CBS confirmed that Season 5 will have lesser episodes. Compared to the previous seasons, this had 22 episodes. The series is now available for streaming on Netflix, in an effort by CBS to gain more viewers, while the fourth season started to air online on Sept. 22.
