The mysterious buyer of the Goldwyn estate in Beverly Hills has finally been identified, and could it be no other than pop superstar, Taylor Swift?
Bianca Barragan of Curbed LA disclosed that the music icon supposedly paid $25 million in cold cash for this property of producer Samuel Goldwyn. The almost two-acre spread, with its 11,000 square-foot main house, was inherited by Samuel Goldwyn Jr., who is also a producer. After Goldwyn Jr.'s death in January, it appeared that his family didn't want to continue the Goldwyn tradition of living in their residence.
The alleged latest addition to Swift's portfolio has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a card room, a library, a theater with 35mm projection, a guest suite with a private entrance, staff lodging above the garage, lawns, terraces, extensive gardens, a lighted and sunken tennis court, a pool, and a pool house with a kitchenette.
Mark David of Variety describes that Forbes estimated the 25-year-old singer to have made $80 million between June 2014 and June 2015. It was also said that the seven-time Grammy winner has an expanding portfolio of posh residential properties, which by now, has totalled $70 million. Included in this portfolio is a secluded Beverly Hills estate acquired in 2011 for $3.55 million, a 4,000-plus-square-foot Nashville duplex penthouse bought in 2009 for nearly $2 million, and an almost six-acre stately Greek Revival residence picked up in 2011 for $2.5 million.
David observes that as Swift's popularity and income grew, so did the size and price of her properties. In 2013, Forbes estimated that she raked in an estimated $55 million and shelled out $17.75 million for Watch Hill, a 12,000-square-foot seaside spread in Westerly, Rhode Island. In 2012, as she was reported to have generated an income of $64 million, Swift paid the "Lord of the Rings" filmmaker Peter Jackson $20 million for a lower Manhattan, suburban mansion-sized, two-unit duplex penthouse with nine bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, a 1,200-square-foot living/dining room, and more than 2,000 square feet of wrap-around terraces.
Some weeks back, Realty Today featured the news about Goldwyn's estate going to a "mysterious buyer," with Swift's name included as a possible buyer.
