'Bones' Star David Boreanaz: Leaving the Show After Season 11?

"Bones" Season 11 premiered its 11th season last Thursday, Oct. 1. The pilot's story picked up six months after season five's finale, with Agent Booth (David Boreanaz) and Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) settling in their semi-domesticated life. All of a sudden, Booth went missing, and remains were brought to the Jeffersonian, along with Booth's gun. Dr. Brennan breathed a sigh of relief as the bones did not match his. The episode ended with the question: Where in the world is Agent Booth?

As anticipated, the pilot episode showed promise of an exciting season. Screen Rant gave it positive reviews, stating, "This episode demonstrates the value of having a good formula, and it's one that 'Bones' has delivered on again and again. For that alone, there's reason enough to still be watching."

While the show is swimming in high reviews and ratings, lead star David Boreanaz recently hinted of a possible bad news. In an interview with E! Online, Boreanaz implied that either this would be the show's final season, or he will not be joining the next.

"For me, personally, I think it's time. I think that 11 seasons is great. I mean, one season is great! I don't really count it as seasons but what we've given to the show and what we can do, for me it's great to see the show come to an end and do it the way we want to do it," he said. "It's a great way to wrap the whole series up and I'm excited about that."

Prior to this season's premiere, Boreanaz was reported to be suffering from a serious illness, but forced himself to join the show. "Nothing matters to me more than 'Bones,'" the 46-year-old actor was quoted saying.

If his latest revelation means that this is the last season we will be seeing Agent Booth, then fans have more reasons to tune in to the show. "Bones" airs every Thursday, 8 p.m. on Fox.
