It is more than the consumption of the mansion of star studded celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Ronald Reagan and Michael Jackson.
Based on Reveal's gathered records, Bel Air has another merit: it is home of the largest known residential water consumer in California, with the 90077 zip code.
Although, the city of L.A. won't disclose the identity of the 11.8 million gallon user, whose yearly bill is $90,000, based on the record of the Department of Water and Power.
Now on its year four, the city has take steps to sop this consumer or get other large users from using large volumes of water during a statewide water crisis.
This is also the same issue in the urban part of California. Well-heeled household consumers in exclusive community are being permitted to use as much water as they want to purchase, based on the records and study of the state's largest urban water organizations. There are more than 1 million gallons of water used out of 365 California residents used yearly, ending in April 1.
A million of gallons is sufficient for eight families per year, based on the estimate of the state in 2011, and most of California's largest users used up more than that per year. Furthermore, out of the 73 households, more than 3 million gallons each and another 6 million for additional 14. These mega-consumers reside in the posh La Jolla beachfront community in San Diego, wealthy neighborhoods in L.A. and Contra Costa County.
Moreover, the state's largest users in Bel Air had 19 consumers using more than 2.8 million gallon a year, while in the famous 90210 zip code, they had 32 users consuming 2.8 million or even more!
