‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Season 3 Update: Fans Fear There’s Not Enough Material for Upcoming Season

"Tokyo Ghoul" is set for season 3 in 2016. This is not the only good news that fans are getting from FUNimation Entertainment but also a mobile game based on the favorite anime series.

Anime Network News reports that FUNimation Entertainment is teaming up with GameSamba, a mobile game publisher, to create a new mobile game adapted from the "Tokyo Ghoul" anime series. The announcement has been made by GameSamba in September. In fact, the press release "included a quotation from FUNimation Entertainment CEO and President Gen Fukunaga stating that a third Tokyo Ghoul anime season is set for 2016." This mobile game based from the anime series will be available for Andriod and iOS phones.

Both FUNimation and GameSamba are subsidiary companies of Group 1200 Media. These two subsidiaries made an announcement about coming up with a a free-to-play online Fairy Tail RPG.

Although FUNimation has confirmed this news with ANN about the 2016 release, the company has not provided specific info whether it is referring to the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 or for the mobile game. ANN has requested fro clarification, but as of press time FUNimation has not clarified the concern yet.

On a different note, Kpopstarz has reported about the confirmation of the 3rd season of "Tokyo Ghoul" anime series. The producers have confirmed but as far as the story is concerned, it has not been disclosed yet. It has been reported earlier by When-Will.net that there's not enough material to complete the full season, given that the anime will make use of "Tokyo Ghoul: Re" story.

This has been the pressing concern of fans, whether season 3 story will stay true to the present manga. "The main cause of concern is that "Tokyo Ghoul: re" only has 43 chapters which might not be enough material to produce a whole season's worth of episodes."

Note that "Tokyo Ghoul" is considered as one of the few popular tv anime series in Japan. In fact, its incredible demand led to a sequel, "Tokyo Ghoul: Re," which has been serialized in the Weekly Young Jump magazine since October 2014.
