The apparent demise of a legacy character of "Days of Our Lives," Will Horton, played by Guy Wilson, was confirmed last month. On Friday, Will met his end.
Will visited Abigail and offered to stay in the apartment until the cable arrives. While waiting, he thought of Sonny. He stared at their wedding photo and started crumpling papers and throwing them into the garbage bin. Then realizing what he's doing, he started retrieving them and that's when Will found a red necktie on the trash. Ben walked in just when Will is holding the tie.
Will tried to talk his way out and said he needed to get going. But Ben, who have tightened his fist on the tie, shouted "No." When Will realized what's going to happen, he told Ben they're friends and said, "You asked me to be your best man." Ben said everyone is clueless and attacked Will. He strangled will with the necktie and killed him. He put the body in the canvas bag.
Many fans are surely brokenhearted with Guy Wilson's exit from the soap, but the actor remains pragmatic about it. As per Soap Shows report, Wilson said in the Oct. 19 issue of Soap Opera Digest, "It was all purely business, and it was all in an effort to revitalize the show and create story space to bring back some iconic characters like Bo and Patch."
Wilson said he understands the decision and told the Digest, "All the characters who have fallen victim to the serial killer, none of it had to do with problems with the actor or personality." Nonetheless, he admitted that he's going to miss Salem and said, "[I'm] sad to know that this wonderful period in my career was coming to a close."
Wilson debuted in "Days of Our Lives" in January 2014, taking over the role of Chandler Massey, who won three Emmys for his performance of that character.
