Anna Duggar has certainly had a rough year. First, her husband Josh publicly admitted sexual molestation charges, which prompted the cancellation of their reality show and bread and butter, "19 Kids and Counting." And then, Josh confessed to cheating on her and having a porn addiction. This embarrassing situation led to Josh's rehab seclusion, leaving Anna to fend for herself and their four children. As if to add salt to her injury, her mother-in-law Michelle recently dished out a controversial marriage advice, seemingly pertaining to her.
Michelle's words of wisdom, posted on the Duggar family website, advised wives to be "joyfully available" to their husbands all the time. "Smile and be willing to say, 'Yes, sweetie I am here for you,' no matter what, even though you may be exhausted and big pregnant and you may not feel like he feels. 'I'm still here for you and I'm going to meet that need because I know it's a need for you,'" the Duggar matriarch wrote.
Many fans are outraged by Michelle's marriage tip. Now, Hollywood Life reports that Anna is "furious" as well. According to an unnamed source for the entertainment site, Anna thinks Michelle's words were a "passive aggressive" diss towards her.
"At first Anna blamed herself for Josh's wandering eye, but now that's she been away from him and has been getting support from her own family, she's starting to realize that she is NOT to blame," says the source.
The source also says that Anna is fed up with the Duggar family, as she has always been there for Josh, but that didn't stop him from cheating on her.
"She feels like Josh's parents are in so much denial about their son that they would rather blame Anna for their failed relationship than take responsibility for not getting Josh the proper help and treatment that he needed when they found out he was molesting his sisters," the source adds.
Meanwhile, Josh's cousin, Amy Duggar, has spoken with US Weekly and revealed that she has kept contact with Anna, who she thinks remains resilient as ever.
"She's good," Amy told the magazine. "I talk to her a lot. She's doing good. She's strong. I wouldn't be handling it quite the same way."
