Michelle Duggar definitely knows a thing or two about marriage. After all, the Duggar family's matriarch has had more than 30 years' worth of practice with her husband Jim Bob, and together they even raised 19 kids (and counting). On the Duggar family's official website, she did not hesitate dishing out a few marriage-related tips.
She posted a question sent by a fan dated Oct. 8, "What advice will you give Jill as a newlywed wife to keep in mind throughout her marriage?"
To answer, Michelle quoted a lengthy advice her friend gave her when she was about to wed Jim Bob 31 years ago. "Anyone can iron Jim Bob's shirt, anybody can make lunch for him. He can get his lunch somewhere else. But you are the only one who can meet that special need that he has in his life for intimacy," she shared. "So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don't forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together. No one else in the world can meet that need."
Michelle emphasized her belief that a woman should "joyfully and willingly" place importance to her husband's physical needs, "even if she may not feel like he feels." She added, "I've realized the sweetness of that through the years. While I am always joyfully available for him, in turn, he'll lay down his life in any way. He will sit there and listen to everything I need to tell him because he knows that I'm there for him, too. I'm meeting his needs, he's meeting my needs."
Although this advice is directed to her daughter Jill, who got married to Derick Dillard in 2014 and gave birth to their first child early this year, many are wondering if Michelle is pertaining to someone else. According to a report by Radar Online, Michelle's "sex advice" could actually be a jab at her daughter-in-law Anna. Anna and Josh's marriage is currently on the rocks, after Josh, Michelle's eldest child, publicly admitted numerous infidelities and porn addiction. Is Michelle suggesting that Anna should have fulfilled Josh's needs to avoid his unfaithfulness?
Josh is currently in a private rehab center while Anna is back with her family in Florida. Numerous reports suggest that their marriage is in trouble and could lead to divorce.
