iPad Air 3 Specs Rumors: 'iPad 7' Gets A9 or A9X Chipset, IP68 Compliant, 4GB RAM to Come in Q1 2016?

iPad Air was nowhere in sight during Apple's media event last September. The internet is full of rumors that the next iPad Air tablet may arrive before the year ends or early 2016.

iPad Air 3 release was stalled by Apple to give way to iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 though, they have not decided yet if the release date will be this year or early next year, Christian Today reported.

iPad Air 3 speculation also includes the specs of the new generation of iPad Air that includes a 9.7-inch 4K capable, 3112 x 2334 pixel display screen. The display will also have a 401 ppi, much like the iPhone 6 Plus. The processor will either be an A9 or A9X chipset, which is the latest processor of Apple, plus either 2 GB or a 4 GB RAM.

It is also said that nothing much will be happening with its camera, an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 2.1 MP for the front-facing camera. Unfortunately, it will be having a lower battery capacity than iPad Air 2's 7340 mAh.

Additional rumors say that the new iPad Air 3 will also be IP68 compliant, meaning, the tablet will be waterproof and dustproof. A lower profile is expected with the new one, 5mm thick to be exact, IT Pro reported.

Apple is known for its consistency, with regards to the price. So based on the pattern, the next generation of iPad Air may still be priced the same, at around £399.

Some are also suggesting that the name will not be iPad Air 3 anymore, but rather be called as iPad 7, simply because it will be the seventh version of the iPad. The previous six models include: iPad, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 1, iPad Mini 2, and iPad Mini 3.

The iPad Air 3 manufacturer has not released official words about the matter as of today.
