Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: Quick Apps View, 'OK Google' Voice Command, Notification Disabled Tricks Revealed

Android Marshmallow has started to reach smartphones around the globe. Here are some useful tips and tricks available at the moment.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow facilitates a quick way to navigate the apps. On the apps panel, users can check out the list of apps alphabetically by a scroll of a thumb on the right side. This is particularly helpful when a user is looking for an app by its name. Typically, it is in the order of how the user has arranged it, Trusted Reviews reported.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow can also let your "OK Google" voice command to go directly to Google Now from the lock screen. Accessing one's contact list means that one needs to do several steps in order to see the address book. With Android Marshmallow, things got a little bit easier. One simply needs to unlock the phone and say "OK Google," and voila, it is ready to take your voice command, Android Pit reported.

Marshmallow can also uninstall apps from the home screen. Every now and then, one would want to take out some programs that are not really being used. It does take quite a while in order to uninstall an app, but not anymore with the Marshmallow. From the home screen, simply perform a long press on the app icon that needs to go away. The action is similar to a right-click on a computer, it will then open a dialog box with the option to "remove" and "uninstall." Simply drag the app icon to "uninstall" so as to remove the program.

The new Android OS is also capable of disabling notifications. Normally, notifications will remind its users about everything happening on the phone. Some do not want that as it can prove distracting sometimes, but with Android Marshmallow, that feature can now be disabled. Simply navigate to Settings, then Sound & Notifications, then App Notifications, and then uncheck "allow peeking."
