Google Nexus 5X vs. Sony Xperia Z5: Nexus 5X Cheaper, But Xperia Z5 Features Better Processor, RAM, Additional Storage, Aesthetic Appeal

Google's Nexus 5X, which was revealed late last month, is about to be released soon and may be a force to reckon with. Specs wise, the Sony Xperia Z5 is the most relevant unit to compare it with.

Google Nexus 5X body is made from solid polycarbonate and is available in three colors: carbon, ice, and quartz. The Google phone somehow lacks a sophisticated look, but a fingerprint scanner is located on its rear, Computer World reported.

Xperia Z5, on the other hand, is a better-looking device. The metal frame combined with the frosted glass at the front and rear, gives a premium build. A fingerprint scanner is integrated in its power button, on the side of its frame. Colors come in green, white, black, and gold.

Nexus 5X has a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution capacitive screen. Its density is at 424 pixels per inch, while the Sony Xperia Z5 has a similar size and resolution IPS LCD capacitive screen. Its density is measured at 428 pixels per inch.

It is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset for the Nexus 5X with a hexa-core CPU. Four of its cores is clocked at 1.44 GHz and two is pegged at 1.82 GHz. It also comes with an Adreno 418 GPU. The Z5 on the other hand has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and is loaded with an octa-core CPU. Four cores are clocked at 1.5 GHz and the other four is at 2 GHz along. An Adreno 430 GPU is also loaded on it.

No additional storage can be added to the Nexus 5X. No MicroSD slot is incorporated in its design. The RAM is a little bit low though, 2 GB. Xperia Z5 can accommodate up to 200 GB worth of additional storage and its RAM is also bigger at 3 GB, NeuroGadget reported.

Nexus 5X has a 12 megapixel camera, while a 23 megapixel version is on the Sony The market price for Nexus 5X reads $380 unlocked, while it will be $830 for the Xperia Z5 unlocked.
